What is Social
Experience Design?
SOCIAL EXPERIENCE DESIGN refers to processes used to gain insight into the way people interact with one another and the creation of positive and meaningful connections. It applies proven design approaches that have traditionally focused to products and services but in a revision, more intimate personable focus towards the individual. Like you!
SXD is effective in interpersonal areas that traditionally are supposed to be enjoyable but can cause anxiety and frustration in people such as:
✓ Dating + attracting partners
✓ Human Resources- e.g. applying for a job
✓ Workplace communication- with clients, teams and management
✓ Social situations such as networking or parties
✓ Improving connections with friends + family
✓ Presentations and performance
This approach breaks down areas where one can get emotionally stuck, challenging negative core beliefs and uses design thinking to help you become more in-tune with your centered self and what gives you true delight. It’s about providing a clear design for your ideal life and offering tangible, actionable ways to achieve it.

There’s something really powerful about knowing yourself in a way that is truly vulnerable, authentic and honest; it forms the cornerstone of what it means to be happy and fulfilled in life. Staying present and in touch with your own feelings is the ultimate win, for how can we know happiness if we cannot identify what it is that makes us feel this way?
Unfortunately over time, the increasing pressure of conforming to a perceived ideal in all aspects of life can result in inaccurate self judgments and an association that vulnerability equates to weakness, failure and inadequacy. This can feel like you’re merely existing through life and accepting mediocrity but having you give up on ever even asking yourself what truly makes you happy.
Martyn specialises in connecting in with people and understanding what really makes them tick, cutting through the uncomfortable self conscious defensiveness and guiding them towards finding the parts of themselves that shine. He re-introduces you to your real self, identifying what it means be your best and designing a strategy to be living it authentically every day here on.

With over 20 years of researching and understanding every day people to designing delightful experiences with a human centred focus, it’s no wonder Martyn has an exceptional grasp on knowing what makes a person happy.
Irreverent and likeable, with a solid “gift-of-the-gab” and a people person above all, Martyn is known for his left-field problem solving mindset, natural curiosity and childlike enthusiasm for extracting joy in even the most challenging situations and guiding others to do the same. He has helped countless clients challenge their own negative self beliefs and provides them with genuine practical outcomes to address and conquer challenges in social settings.
Blunt, scrappy and incredibly honest, Martyn cuts through the cliche and the generic and puts forward effective creative solutions that focus on getting that positive outcome.

Whether it be getting over a breakup, boosting your chances in the dating world, improving an existing relationship or landing that new job, our goal is focusing on uncovering your super power as quickly and efficiently as possible. We use a whole suite of exploratory design thinking methods coupled with our extensive understanding of real world human interaction to break down a problems and map out a clear path to get you where you need to be. We takes the time to understand, challenge, test and refine your own perceptions of who you are and what you can do (and guaranteed it’s a lot greater than you think) and your definitions of happiness and delight to then ideate with you to develop practical, tangible and effective ways of reaching your true potential.
We’re about keeping you focused and accountable till you’re then able to do it off your own bat.
You’ll learn a lot about yourself in the process and find the way you think starts to shift into a growth mindset, becoming more curious about the ‘why’ and be able to identify how to lead with your awesome authentic self in achieving anything you choose to do.
